I've been dancing in Avec for a couple of years. I've learned and practiced a lot. It is a great place to dance bachata and salsa. Avec also organizes great parties.
World-class teaching, always super high energy and strong focus on building a great foundation for technique in latin dances.
I would definitely recommend Omar&Johanna=) They are very good teachers with who you can not only learn some nice figures/movements but also get a lot of information about technique part of dancing. You can be sure that you will learn how to dance, develop your dancing skills and enjoy the dance. Their lessons are always interesting and bring a good energy =)
They make the best followers and leaders in the city! Creating warm and welcoming atmosphere same time. They are good at observing what could help students in the moment and they are as well as teachers than dancers.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS WHEN JOINING BOTH BOOTCAMPS!
You are not automatically registered for both bootcamps just by purchasing the 2 bootcamp pass!
1. Purchase the 2 bootcamp pass when registering for the 1st bootcamp
2. Then register for the second bootcamp, no purchase needed then.
If it’s your first time joining classes at Avec during the process you will need to create an Account.
When registering with a partner both will need to register separately!
However, if you are buying this as a present for someone you, once you have created your Mindbody Account you can add them as family member from your account setting, and then register them and pay for them. Contact Omar on WA if you have questions about this or can’t find where to do this.
ALL REGISTRATIONS
During registration select the role you will be dancing as. In general when it’s the first time dancing men dance as leaders and ladies as followers. But more we accept anyone in any role and recommend experienced dancers to join in the opposite roles to improve their dancing.
COUPLE / PARTNER REGISTRATIONS
When registering with a partner, both will need to register individually as all registrations are personal.
Please mark the first and last name of your partner in the registration notes.

No refunds, in case you can’t come we can give you a complimentary pass for a later date if available or you can sell/give away your spot to someone. Contact Omar through WA if you can’t make it.
FAQ
Can I learn both Salsa & Bachata at the same time?
Definitely! We actually recommend starting both at the same time! Learning both Salsa & Bachata will ensure you become an all-round dancers from the get go and you can dance at the Latin parties non-stop. We dance multiple dances ourselves and can help you develop fast in becoming an all round social dancer. Obviously it all depends on ones calendar and personal interest.
What clothing should I wear?
Wear something comfortable!
Some people come straight from work and wear their work clothing, others come with other comfortable clothing.
What shoes should I wear?
No outdoor shoes are permitted on the dance floor.
Please take indoor shoes with non-marking soles. Optionally you can just dance in socks but this might be slippery.
At some point. once you have decided to continue dancing more, you might want to consider buying shoes specifically for social dancing.
Can I only dance with my partner?
During all group classes at Avec everyone changes partner to improve the learning process.
If you are interested in learning only with your partner we would recommend you to contact us for Private Lessons.
How long does it take before I can go to Salsa and Bachata parties?
You actually don’t need to go to classes to go to Salsa & Bachata parties! Like any other pub/bar you can just go and meet people in a lively environment.
We recommend students to go to as many parties as possible as soon as possible! This will greatly help develop your dancing faster and get inspired! If you want to check out events that we organise through I Dance Helsinki check out this link
We’ll teach you enough foundations in the first bootcamp to get you started. In the Progressive course during the first 3-4 classes you will already have a foundation to dance comfortably at a party.
But like with anything, it takes time to develop new skills.
Can I get a private lesson first?
If you are not sure yet or want to get a head-start you can book a private lesson with us.
